Secondary Windows
Secondary windows are single glazed windows that are fitted inside of your existing window. They can be used for period homes and listed buildings that have a single glazed window already that they have to keep but they want to add an extra layer of insulation to reduce heat loss. They also work well for indoor office partitions as they are single glazed units.
What are the benefits of secondary windows?
01
Energy Efficiency
The space between the two windows creates a thermal insulation layer which will reduce the heat loss from your home, resulting in lower heating costs. This will improve your energy efficiency rating which is great for period properties that struggle keeping the heat in.
02
Noise Reduction
03
Secondary windows create an extra layer to effectively reduce external noise. This is great for properties in a busy location.
Architectural Design
If you have a listed property or you are unable to change the design of your windows due to certain rules then secondary windows are ideal for you. The current windows are left as they are and we install a second window behind it which is almost invisible from the outside so the exterior of the property is unchanged and the character of the house is preserved.
Sound Reduction
Energy Efficiency
The lower the U value, the less heat you lose through your windows.
